After hearing the news that Brian Kelly has been hired as the new head football coach at LSU, and how he basically dipped on his players at Notre Dame, let them find out and social media, and gave them a two-minute goodbye at 7 in the morning, there have been a few wild stories about the man that’ve been released, a lot of them involving him being a straight up asshole.

And the latest one we’ve heard comes from a couple of former grad assistant coaches of Kelly at Central Michigan.

And the coaches?

Robert Saleh, current head coach of the New York Jets, and Matt LaFleur, current head coach of the Green Bay Packers.

According to the New York Post, when Kelly was head coach at Central Michigan back in 2004, he invited Saleh and LaFleur to a party at his home.

I’m sure the two were pretty stoked… a couple of wide eyed grad assistants getting invited to the head coach’s party.

However, when they got there, they quickly realized they weren’t guests.

Kelly forced them to go outside and shovel snow from his driveway and park cars, and then having to repeat the tasks when the guests were leaving.

Saleh recalled the dick move:

“We shoveled the snow and parked all the cars. Then, at the end of the night, we had to go get the cars again.

We decided that when we’re in that position, we’re never going to treat people the way we got treated… and Matty’s lived up to it.”

I mean damn, I always kind of assumed Kelly was an asshole judging from interviews and his erratic behavior on the sidelines, but I had no idea he used to pull shit like this.

Good luck in LSU… not sure if that’s the kind of southern hospitality they’re looking for down in the bayou.

And if not, Coach O knows a nice little fishin’ hole or two they can bury you in…

Geaux Tigers.
