His story has managed to overshadow even the Henry Ruggs story, who drunkenly drove his Corvette over 150 mph, rear-ending and killing a young woman and her dog in the fiery wreck.
The reason so many people are mad is because Rodgers told the media that he had been “immunized,” a subtle play on words that made everybody who heard him think he was vaccinated against COVID-19.
The truth is, he was NOT vaccinated against COVID-19, and everybody from Terry Bradshawand Stephen A. Smith, to even Howard Stern is ripping him apart for it.
Bradshaw called him a “liar” (while perpetuating his own lies about Ivermectin no less), Stephen A. called him a “national embarrassment,” and Stern went as far to say that he should be kicked out of the league.
Of course, when it comes to opinions about how Rodgers chose to handle this whole vaccine debacle, only a few matter… the NFL, the Green Bay Packers, and State Farm, one of Rodgers’ biggest endorsements.
Thanks to NFL COVID-19 protocols, the league and the Packers already knew he wasn’t vaccinated, as Rodgers has a completely different set of precautions he must take as an unvaccinated player.
And today, the big news was that State Farm, while disagreeing with decision to remain unvaccinated, supported him in his right to make his own decisions.
They released the following statement, according to USA Today:
“Aaron Rodgers has been a great ambassador for our company for much of the past decade. We don’t support some of the statements that he has made, but we respect his right to have his own personal point of view.
We recognize our customers, employees, agents and brand ambassadors come from all walks of life, with differing viewpoints on many issues. Our mission at State Farm is to support safer, stronger communities.
To that end, we encourage vaccinations, but respect everyone’s right to make a choice based on their personal circumstances.”
However, according to Apex Marketing Group, only about 1.5% of State Farm ads had Rodgers in them Sunday, whereas the two previous Sundays, State Farm commercials were about 25% Aaron Rodgers.
So while they may be sticking by him, it appears as though they’re quietly reducing his exposure.
