On November 2nd, 1983, two of country music’s finest topped the charts with one of the best duets of all time.

Written, and later recorded, by the Bee Gees, Dolly Parton and the late, great Kenny Rogers teamed up on “Islands In The Stream”.

Released on Roger’s Eyes That See In The Dark album, the song went to #1 on pretty much every applicable chart, Pop and Country, and is certified Platinum.

It’s remained to this day, one of the most iconic tracks in the genre’s history.

On Spotify alone it’s racked up over 200 Million streams 40 years after it’s release. Ernest and Hailey Whitters teamed up to recreate the duet, and just a few days ago, Jason and Brittany Aldean dressed up as the duo for Halloween.

Cheers to two legends.
