Ashley Monroe is the cream of the crop when it comes to the best artists in country music.

She’s been one of my favorites for a long time, and yesterday, she shared the unfortunate news that she had been diagnosed with a rare type of blood cancer and would start chemotherapy treatment for it today.

Earlier this afternoon, she posted a video on her Instagram page singing Canadian singer-songwriter Bryan Adams’ #1 hit “(Everything I Do) I Do It for You” with Brittney Spencer.

She noted in the caption that she used to sing the song to her son Dalton every night when he was a baby, and it holds an even more special place in her heart now with everything she’s dealing with.

She also thanked her fans and followers for their outpouring of support yesterday, saying it’s what has gotten her through her first day of treatment:

“Everything I Do. Brittney Spencer is a new friend of mine and I absolutely adore her on every level. She and I had been texting about our mutual love for Bryan Adams, so Tyler Cain and I asked her to come sing one of our favorites of Bryan’s with us.

I used to sing this song to Dalton every night when he was a baby. I know this song hits Brittney deep too. It hits me even deeper now with what I posted yesterday.

I hope you all feel this one as much as I do. Thank you again Brittney and Tyler for doing this with me last week. I’m honored to know you both.

I love of all you too. Your overwhelming support, love, and prayers has gotten me thru today.”

They recorded it last week, and she’s a complete and total badass being able to deliver something this amazing knowing what she’s facing, and the road ahead of her battling this disease.

You can almost feel the weight of everything as she sings, and I’m praying for nothing but the best for her and her family.
