Hey Texas, Shiner Is Launching A New Craft Brewed Hard Seltzer

Text

For my money, Shiner Bock might be the best beer on planet Earth, but now, they’re getting into the hard seltzer mix.

Better late than never I suppose…

Texas’ Spoetzl Brewery, makers of the wonderful Shiner family of brews has just announced the launch of “Straight Shooter Hard Seltzer. Clocking in at 0 carbs, 0 sugar, 90 calories and 4.5% alcohol by volume, Shiner seems to be working with a pretty standard hard seltzer stat line, although for Shiner, they knew it had to be craft brewed.

According to Shiner brewmaster Jimmy Mauric, that was the main focus:

“When we set out to make our first hard seltzer we knew it had to be genuinely craft brewed. With that in mind, we use just a few simple ingredients and water sourced from our artesian well. We brewed it so it would live up to its name ‘Straight Shooter’— it is a straightforward, transparent, delicious, and refreshing craft brewed hard seltzer.”

Staring in late August, Straight Shooter Hard Selzter will hit shelves in four flavors: Wild Cherry, Lemonade, Mango, and Grapefruit/Lime

And if the hard seltzer competition wasn’t stiff enough, Topo Chico also announced they will be launching a hard seltzer product of their own.
