Lol.

A new study from experts is saying that the U.S. Dietary Guidelines for Americans should now suggest you should limit yourself to one alcoholic drink (max) per day, regardless of if you’re a man or woman.

Previously, they said women should limit themselves to one, and men two, but now they’re saying it should be one for both.

I went to get a yearly physical recently and they asked if I had 3 or more alcohol drinks…per week. I had to do a double take, and ask “per week or day?” Listen doc, we’ve had a lot of podcast guests on recently, 3 drinks a week isn’t in the cards.

The report from NBC News explains further:

“In a report released Wednesday, a committee of experts noted there isn’t adequate evidence to support different alcohol recommendations for men and women, and that research supports tightening the limit for men. U.S. health agencies that issue dietary guidelines aren’t required to adopt the committee’s recommendations.”

“As a nation, our collective health would be better if people generally drank less,” this according to alcohol researcher at Boston University, Dr. Timothy Naimi.

Sounds good but, it ain’t gonna happen. Not ’round these parts.

I can find you a bunch of old Eastern Europeans living into their 90’s who will in fact say the exact opposite – a few swigs of homemade whiskey per day in fact keeps those doctors away.

Coffee black. Whiskey neat.

Take it away, Luke…
