Lay’s Launches 5 New Flavors Including Nashville Hot Chicken, Geno’s Steaks And More

Text

Lay’s can be pretty hit or miss when it comes to flavors.

Their Chicago-style deep dish was a trainwreck, their fried pickles with ranch tasted weird as hell, the biscuits and gravy was basically sour creme and onion, but plenty of others have been pretty damn good.

And whenever they can keep it simple, they have a chance for success.

And now, Lay’s is paying homage to five of America’s most revered eating establishments with their new restaurant-inspired line of new flavors. And between, pizza, tacos, and chicken… there’s a little something for everybody.

– Lay’s Kettle Cooked New York Style Pizza (inspired by Grimaldi’s in New York City)

– Lay’s Nashville Hot Chicken (inspired by Party Fowl in Nashville)

– Lay’s Philly Cheesesteak (inspired by Geno’s Steaks in Philadelphia)

– Lay’s Wavy Carnitas Street Taco (inspired by El Torito in Los Angeles)

– Lay’s Chile Relleno (inspired by Cocina Azul in Albuquerque)

My immediately thought is hot chicken and the taco have the best chance of being good. We’re basically talking about BBQ and spicy nacho with those, but the pizza? I’ll probably have to steer clear of that one. It’s just too hard to get all the good flavors of a pizza into a potato chip. Philly cheesesteak is the wildcard though. I’m doubtful… but you have my attention.

All of the flavors are rolling out in stores nationwide the week of July 13 for a limited time.
