BREAKING: Charlie Daniels Has Died

Country legend Charlie Daniels has passed away at age 83.

In an email, his team shared the following:

“Country music and southern rock legend Charlie Daniels has passed.”

“The Country Music Hall of Fame and Grand Ole Opry member died this morning at Summit Medical Center in Hermitage, Tennessee. Doctors determined the cause of death was a hemorrhagic stroke. He was 83.”

The always outspoken Daniels was born in Wilmington, North Carolina in 1936, and went on to have a prolific career in country, Southern rock, bluegrass and beyond.

An outpouring of condolences have flooded Twitter.

RIP.

His team shared the following performance of “I’ll Fly Away” on his Facebook page as the news broke.
