Zac Brown Band Announces New ‘Roar With The Lions Tour’ – Says Some Sh*t About Loyalty & Courage

Zac Brown Band is hitting the road this summer, and the theme this year (because it’s Zac Brown and there’s always some weird theme) is… lions?

“Our summer tour is inspired by the folklore surrounding the figure of the lion. I am a Leo, and all of the guys in the band are lions. They exemplify strength, courage, intelligence, and loyalty, and work in tandem to defend their territory and one another. The crowd is our pride – rooted in togetherness and fiercely loyal. They always show up for each other, no matter what, just like our fans always show up for us. We can’t wait to hear you roar with us!”

Loyal like when you abandoned your fans and started making shitty pop music?

Loyal like all the fans that said they were done with you after you started making shitty pop music?

Loyal like the time you blamed fans not understanding your shitty pop music?

OKAAAAAAAYYYYY…

Look, there’s no doubt that you’re going to have the ride-or-die fans that will show up for everything, no matter how bad it gets. But there’s also no doubt that this new album has left a sour taste in the mouth of many of your fans. Fans that would’ve ponied up the money to check this tour out, but definitely won’t anymore.

We saw Zac and company at Wrigley Field a few years ago and it was incredible. Am I going back this year? Hell no. Why would I?

So when you’re announcing this big “Lion Tour,” and you accompany it with this little speech about lions defending the territory and “courage” and “loyalty,” all I hear is, “if you’re a true fan, you’ll show up because I know there’s a lot of you that won’t.” That’s what it sounds like to me. It doesn’t sound like inspiration, it sounds like you’re defensive and doubling down once again. it sounds like:

“Please come see us, even though you know I’m going to rap about Gucci bags. But because it’s me, and we’re all lions together, you should act like you like it.”

So if you’re one of Zac’s die-hard lions, here’s the dates.
