Does this guy really not know?
There’s quite a bit of history between Miranda Lambert and the Turnpike Troubadours, specifically their frontman Evan Felker. Back in 2018, Turnpike was opening for Miranda on her Livin’ Like Hippies tour when it was reported that she was dating Felker – who had been married to his wife Staci for about two years at the time.
The two were divorced not long after the news of his affair with Miranda became public, and in May 2019 the Turnpike Troubadours announced they would be taking an indefinite hiatus.
In 2020, Felker revealed that he was sober and working on a ranch in Texas, and had reconciled with Staci, with the couple getting remarried in June 2020. The couple now have two children together, and Turnpike announced their reunion in late 2021 before launching a full comeback in 2022.
Miranda, meanwhile, moved on quickly from the brief fling with Felker, marrying NYPD officer Brendan McLoughlin in January 2019, just months after her relationship with the Turnpike Troubadours frontman ended.
So yeah, a little messy.
Well somebody on TikTok either doesn’t know the history or felt like trolling, commenting on a video posted by Staci Felker that she looks like…Miranda Lambert.
Felker, fortunately, took it in stride – and for good reason: She won.
“Well I can’t tell if you’re blind or trying to start sh-t. This doesn’t hurt my feelings, she’s cute.
We have a little bit of history, but I won. So I’d be lucky to look like her.”
(I also don’t see the resemblance between Felker and Miranda, but maybe it’s just me).
In the comments, Felker also followed up on her “I won” comment:
“Oh a fast track to rehab and getting the life I want!? Sign me up!”
And she also replied to a comment suggesting that Turnpike and Miranda could “do the funniest” thing by dropping a song together…and it sounds like she’s surprisingly not entirely against the idea.
Now, looking through the profile of the guy who commented this, I’m going to guess it’s some idiot who has no idea of the history between the two. It doesn’t seem like he was trying to troll, because in the comments of her response he commented that Staci is “hotter” than Miranda, so I think it’s just some anonymous profile who’s trying to hit on her…but man, what a line to pull out.
(Somebody also pointed out that they need to up their dose of Lexapro after seeing Staci laugh off the comment. Better sport than a lot of people would have been, that’s for sure).
Of course it all worked out in the end: Evan Felker is sober, he and Staci are married and have two beautiful children, and Turnpike Troubadours is back making some of the best music of their career.
But just goes to show you the importance of knowing whose page you’re commenting on, because that could have made for a VERY awkward situation if Staci Felker wasn’t as secure as she is.
