Kid Rock knows exactly who to call when he’s up late at night drinking with his friends… the President of the United States.
Bob Ritchie (A.K.A. Kid Rock) has been one of the most outspoken supporters of Donald Trump during the president’s first and second terms. The “All Summer Long” singer has made countless visits to the White House, and has worked with the POTUS on a number of things – including an executive order aimed at reducing ticket prices.
All that to say that the country singer and the President of the United States are very friendly, and in a recent interview with Sky News Australia (that will be a part of a documentary titled “Trump’s America: 250 Years In The Making”), Kid Rock talked about having Trump on speed dial.
Look it up kids… speed dials used to be a thing.
Kid Rock was asked how it was to be a phone call away from having a conversation with the president at any moment, and the artist didn’t try to hide his excitement at all. Rock’s answer was very genuine as he shared that he’ll often call President Trump in the middle of the night:
“F***ing awesome. Yeah, it’s one of my late-night drinking tricks. Cause I know when to get him. And he’s so gracious. He always picks up. Or he’ll call and check in, just to shoot the s*** most of the time. He’s not calling me to, like, ‘Hey, what should we do in Iran, Bob?’ I don’t get those calls.”
That’s comforting to hear that Kid Rock isn’t getting involved in America’s foreign affairs.
Instead, it seems like Kid Rock and President Trump keep their late-night conversations rather casual. In fact, the singer says that he’ll often pull out the “party trick” to impress friends. And admittedly, that would be something to be sitting around, having drinks, and have someone say “Let’s call the President.”
That’s apparently what Kid Rock does, and he does it often because he and the president happen to be on similar sleeping schedules:
“I was sitting around having some beers. It’s like 11, 12 on a Friday or Saturday. I know he’s up. He sleeps like me. He sleeps like five hours. And I’ll be like, ‘Hey, let’s call the president.’ And people will be like, ‘What?’ And he’ll be like, ‘Hey Bob, what’s up?’ And blah, blah, blah. It’s the best. I enjoy the hell out of hanging out with him and talking with him and just having a front-row seat to the greatest f***ing show on Earth.”
The life of Bob Ritchie… talking to the president late at night and having Apache helicopters fly right by your house (which just so happens to be a replica of the White House).
In the interview, Kid Rock also made sure to throw some shade at Trump’s opponents, and also stated that the POTUS is always putting America first. The “Bawitdaba” singer is obviously a Trump supporter, and why wouldn’t he be? It sounds like the pair does a lot of bonding through their late-night calls while everyone else in the world is getting some shut eye.
