Hope everything’s alright with Ronnie…

Even at 71 years old, Ronnie Dunn still has one of the best voices in country music. And luckily he’s shown no signs of slowing down to this point, with Brooks & Dunn currently out on the road for their Neon Moon Tour, which kicked off in Texas last month. But after last night’s show, fans are expressing their concern about ol’ Ronnie…

The legendary duo was in Indianapolis last night for a show at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse, and those in attendance noticed that Ronnie seemed to be under the weather during the show, at one point sitting on the stage risers as he was performing:

@mackenziebogdon

Anyone know what’s going on?! Hoping a quick bug, and he’s back on stage tomorrow! #brooksanddunn #concert #indianapolis #ronniedunn #illness

And during the encore, while the band was performing their iconic hit “Boot Scootin’ Boogie,” apparently Ronnie couldn’t continue any longer and walked offstage mid-song after stopping to acknowledge the crowd:

Feel better, Ronnie!!! Thanks for giving us all you could!! #brooksanddunn #concert #country #countrymusic

Fans immediately began expressing their concern for the legendary singer, who told the crowd during a performance last month at the Houston Rodeo that he was recovering after recently being diagnosed with COVID. So hopefully he’s just dealing with the lingering effects from being sick, but those who were there noticed that he seemed to be under the weather:

“We were there and I was concerned about him, too. I remember him saying at one point that he could hardly breathe, but he had been singing really hard when he made that comment. Praying for him!”

“I knew something was going on! He didn’t sing as much as he normally does”

“We were there, and loved the concert but was very sad he didn’t sing more. Wondered what was going on with Ronnie.”

“We were there too. It looked like he was struggling throughout the entire night.”

“I’m glad we got to be there and see them again. Hope Ronnie is alright. Kix did his best to carry on. Thankful for the show!”

“I was there and he said at one point that he couldn’t breathe”

Prayers up for Ronnie. Seems like he powered through and put on amazing show regardless, but hopefully he feels better soon.

Ronnie Wasn’t A Fan Of Parker McCollum’s Chain

Whatever Ronnie Dunn says, you listen – even if you’re Parker McCollum.

Brooks & Dunn are one of the most successful duos in country music history, ever since they burst on the country music scene in 1991 with their debut single “Brand New Man,” and then followed it up with hits like “Boot Scootin’ Boogie,” “My Maria,” and “Red Dirt Road.”

McCollum is a Texas native who is nicknamed the “Gold Chain Cowboy,” which also happens to be the name of one of his albums featuring the platinum single “Pretty Heart.” He has been on a hot streak lately with his recent release of “What Kinda Man,” so when the legendary duo invited him back on stage for their performance of “Red Dirt Road,” the crowd must have known they were in for something special.

During a recent performance Parker was clearly in his element during the fantastic performance of the iconic song. Fans had their phones out, but most weren’t able to catch a quick moment at the very end of the song:

As the final notes rang out and Parker was smiling and waving to the crowd with his gold chain between his teeth, he turned back to Ronnie Dunn who tapped him on the shoulder, pointing to his mouth with a grin and whispering something. Parker looked a little confused, then maybe embarrassed.

The caption is:

“Mr. Dunn was not too fond of the chain”

Parker immediately looked sad, but of course, nobody knows what Ronnie actually said to him. Whether that was the sentiment or not, it was a pretty funny moment between a couple of Texas boys, and it definitely gave off some father son energy. Ronnie is an old school dude.

Parker, if you’re reading this… please let us know what he said.

Fans that are watching that moment definitely had something to say about the exchange themselves:

“Much love to Parker McCollum, and y’all his music is awesome, but I think Ronnie was just didn’t want him looking like an idiot while he was onstage. Like a father/son moment.”

“Aw Parker looked embarrassed.”

“Lil tap at the end like. Go on boy. Git.”

“Ooooof.”

“WE LIVE FOR IT, RONNIE. LEAVE HIM ALONE.”

“Ronnie don’t play.”

“That was weird.”

“Parker does this at his concerts and we all LOVE IT!”

If you didn’t catch their song together live, don’t worry, they are both going on stage again soon, both being set to perform at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo two days apart, on March 21st or 22nd, and you can bet folks will be watching closely to see if that chain gets close to Parker’s mouth ever again.

Here’s more from that stellar “Red Dirt Road” performance:
