Located in Wyoming and stretching up into Montana and Idaho, Yellowstone National Park is the first national park in the United States, and largely regarded as the oldest park in the entire world. Signed into law by President Ulysses S. Grant in 1872, its 2.2 million acres give patrons the opportunity to observe some of the most incredible wildlife in the United States, witness geothermal areas unlike any in the world, and view pristine geological structures like the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River.
And here, now in the year 2025, it’s become a place to view some of the dumbest people on planet Earth. It’s just open season on idiots at Yellowstone…
In the past few years, we’ve a 9-year-old girl get air mailed (she was fine though) after her parents got too close, we saw a drunk guy on his way to rehab (one last hurrah, right?) try and taunt a bison, we’ve seen a woman go to jail, yes.. JAIL for approaching a grizzly… the list is kind of endless, but lucky for you, we’ve compiled a greatest hits of morons right HERE.
I mean, it should really go without saying, but don’t try and approach a bison, don’t try and antagonize a bison, and SURELY… don’t try to pet one. According to Yellowstone National Park, you should actually stay at least 25 yards away from bison at all times, and 100 yards away from bears and wolves. Also, it’s important to keep a safe distance between yourself and moose, elk and other Yellowstone critters as well.
The park has even put together a nifty little graphic to remind you., although, you can ignore the arbitrary “6 foot distance from other people” part. This is a COVID-era graphic that was made before the Fauci and government admitted to completely making that up. No real basis in science, and yet, it probably was responsible for a number of restaurants and businesses closing… I digress.
Anyways… let’s a take a look at a first class Yellowstone moron who went viral to the tune of 64 MILLION views on this video. And oddly enough, tripping over her own feet may have saved her from serious injury… or worse.
An anonymous woman was touring Yellowstone National Park a few years back and found right in the crosshairs of an angry young bison after she got WAY to close to the herd. Naturally, as I suppose anyone would, she turned around and ran, even though there is no way she could potentially outrun one of these thousand pound beasts in an open field. But what else are you supposed to do… just stand there flat-footed and take the hit?
With the bison hot on her tail, she tripped, fell flat on her face, and then, as a last resort… just played dead. And lucky for her, the charging bison pumped the brakes right there, and gave her a few sniffs before he determined that the threat was no longer there.
The woman was reportedly a “Montana local” who knew that she should “play dead,” but I would be remiss if I didn’t ask… if you know to “play dead” when a bison tries to run you over like a runaway freight train, then how come you don’t know to stay the hell away from them? Makes you wonder, doesn’t it?
She may have got the picture she wanted for her Instagram account, but we got the viral footage right here. Just keep your distance, eh? It sounds pretty easy, and yet somehow, we have a new story every day with some bozo wandering right up to the herd to get a pic for the ‘Gram.
