Laying one down for the Big Dog Daddy at the Inaugural Ball.
Our 47th Commander In Chief, Donald J. Trump, is officially back in The White House after yesterday’s Presidential Inauguration. Talk about a day. While the ceremony itself, passing the power from one leader to another, was very moving, some hilarious moments occurred yesterday, which I think we can collectively agree were not on any of our bingo cards.
We started the morning strong, with Theo Von telling Conor McGregor to keep his hands off Jake and Logan Paul’s mother on the bus ride to the capital, Theo Von later breaking his chair mid-inauguration, Obama and G.W. Bush cracking jokes before they walked into the rotunda, the internet thinking G.W. Bush popped an edible before the event, Carrie Underwood crushing “America the Beautiful” despite audio malfunctions, and the internet being stunned at how tall Barron Trump is.
What a day. And that all happened before noon.
Later in the evening, more performers took the stage at the Inaugural Ball to celebrate Trump and J.D. Vance’s victory and to have some fun before it’s time to get to work during the pair’s first 100 days in The White House.
While some performers at the Inaugural Ball had a rough performance (cough, cough… Billy Ray Cyrus), others tore up the stage, leaving attendees wanting more. One of those stellar performers was Parker McCollum.
The Texas native crushed his performance and tipped his at one of country music’s biggest patriots, Toby Keith. During his set, he tipped his cowboy hat to the late Toby Keith, covering his American anthem, “Courtesy Of The Red, White, And Blue.”
“It is no small deal to be here tonight, and we do not take it for granted. I hope this song finds you well.”
The Gold Chain Cowboy says to the crowd before firing up the track.
McCollum blew this cover out of the park, and his microphone was definitely on (you hear that, Oliver Anthony?). He put his Texas twang on the lyrics without changing the integrity of the patriotic anthem. The audience loved the cover as well, given you can hear cheers from the crowd as soon as he powerfully delivers those first notes of the song.
Toby Keith would have loved this moment, and you know he was smiling down on Parker McCollum and his band as they began to play this tune. And Parker McCollum did Toby Keith proud with this rendition.

Of course, Toby Keith himself also performed this same track back in 2017 when he rocked the stage at Trump’s first Inauguration.
Toby Keith loved his country and was not afraid to show it. Throughout this performance, you can feel his pride for our nation. That same pride Keith embodied was carried over into McCollum’s stellar performance.
Toby Keith was and always will be America’s biggest fan.
