Fresh off the press. West Texas native and honky tonk artist Randall King has something cooking to kick off 2025.
At the start of 2024, Randall King released his record, Into The Neon, which highlights his authentic Texas sound. When Into The Neon was shared with the public, King noted that this album sonically represented the sound he had been pushing for since the start of his career.
“We are officially in the Neon era, baby. The TONK factor is on and set to 11! Sonically, this album represents a sound I’ve been honing in on for some time. Lyrically, the album’s a little bit of everything, just like life: heartbreak songs, two-steppers, and love songs, all are mostly true stories of life along the way.”
And, boy, did King throw down with this record. From the heartbreakers like “Burns Like Her” to the love songs like “When My Baby’s In Boots,” every track on this record is thoughtful and a heater.
Now, Randall King is ready to showcase the tracklist of this album in a new light as he announces his latest project, Neon (Unplugged.) This new record, slated for a February 21st release, will showcase the tracklist in an unplugged light.
“There is something unique about taking a song, stripping it down to just an acoustic guitar, and singing it with a bit of a different flare,” muses King. “That’s one of the beautiful things about country music. You can rock out with a band, or you can sit down by a fire with only a guitar and sing your heart out to the same song.
‘One Night Dance (Unplugged)’ is the first taste of that stripped-back version that I wanted to share with all of you.”
Accompanying the record’s announcement, King is giving fans a taste of what’s in store for the acoustic project with the release of “One Night Dance (Unplugged).” This track was the perfect choice for the lead single, as it flawlessly showcases King’s sensational vocals. His twang captivates you from the first note, and his vocals are accompanied by the words penned by him and Jon Nite, making for a match made in heaven.
Randall King is keeping his neon era going into this new year but putting an unplugged twist on it. “One Night Dance (Unplugged)” is the perfect teaser for what is in store for the remainder of this acoustic project. February 21st can’t get here soon enough.
