Well that was easy.
All hunters know that there’s nothing that can compare to the thrill of the hunt. When a deer steps out within range, and you start to sight in on the wild animal with your weapon of choice, all of the preparation, tracking, and camouflage purchases come full circle. Though you can’t get too far ahead of yourself… you’ve got to actually bag-and-tag the buck.
Whether you are bow hunting or gun hunting, the goal is to send whatever projectile you’ve got right through the area behind the front shoulder of the deer. That’s where a deer’s lungs are located, and hitting them right there is your best bet for a quick and clean kill. For those that aren’t that great of a shot, they’ve probably had a first-hand experience with what is referred to as “gut shot,” which can turn an in-and-out deer hunt into a hurry-up-and-wait (sometimes for 12 hours) tracking session.
Tracking a deer you’ve shot is just as important to the hunt as pulling the trigger (or squeezing the release for bow hunters, don’t want to discriminate). You typically want to wait a bit in your stand or blind after you’ve shot a deer to give it time to bleed out. Once it’s go time, you follow the blood trail and hopefully find your prized buck at the very end of it. Sometimes it’s a quick tracking session, while other times you spend countless hours in search of your soon-to-be summer sausage supply.
Or sometimes the deer runs and plops down right in front of you.
That last option doesn’t happen all that often, but when it does, it makes for quite the interesting hunting story. In this case, this Oklahoma hunter had the cameras rolling, so not only does Ethan Evans have a story to tell around the fire at deer camp… he’s got the video to prove it.
Evans posted the video of the unbelievable conclusion to his hunt online with the caption:
“Opening morning of rifle season this year was definitely one to remember! The deer activity was insane, and we had a lot of close encounters! This encounter ended closer than expected! We rattled in a couple of small bucks before this one and I wasn’t going to let him get by me. Didn’t know he would end up in my lap! Once in a lifetime hunt for sure and was lucky to get it on video! Thanks to my wife for keeping her composure on this insane encounter!”
A hunt of a lifetime that ends in the shortest track job known to man!! 🤯😱 Ethan Evans tells his story:

Wow… obviously that’s convenient, but still scary.
Now all he needs to make the job even easier is a drone to carry off his downed deer. That would truly make it one of the easiest hunts potentially ever, and many online were quick to point out the convenience of this Oklahoma hunter having the deer buck come right to him:
UberEats, prairie style.

Beats hell out of a bad shot that requires a 3 mile hike over mtn’s and valleys
