Still has at least one more stop on his US road trip.
With the World Cup going on here in the United States, as well as Mexico and Canada, some of the best content of the tournament has been thanks to a number of international fans documenting their trip to America.
One guy in particular has taken over the internet, a German fan named Freddy, who seems to be getting the full American experience – including Walmart, Waffle House, and Buc-ee’s. He got hooked up by JJ Watt in Houston, got invited to an Ella Langley concert in Oklahoma, every brand in American has been throwing the kitchen sink at him… he’s been living the dream.
Sadly for Freddy, Germany lost earlier this week in a shocking defeat to Paraguay. However, he revealed at the time that he’ll still be in America for a few more weeks, and even asked for suggestions for what he needed to do in his remaining time here.
There were plenty of great suggestions (including our pitch for Nashville), and plenty of invitations rolling in for Freddy to make the best of his trip. But unfortunately for us, Freddy won’t be documenting the rest of his trip because some insufferable, miserable, chronically online losers bullied him off of X.
The final straw came after people started digging up his old tweets, and some on the woke left started going after him for opinions that they didn’t like. (Imagine that). So Freddy deactivated his X account, while detailing his reasoning in a series of lengthy Instagram posts:
“Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know why I deactivated my account.
1. This was the plan all along even before we started the World Cup trip
2. Too many people seem to have a problem with us having a genuinely good time here in the country, and this is ruining the fun a bit for us because we really just wanted to document our road trip and never expected that people would have a problem with it.
3. People are digging in my 22k posts to find a handful of in their opinion controversial posts and post them without zero context to make me look like a bad person.”
Freddy said that he intended to continue his US road trip, and even partake in America’s 250th birthday celebrations:
“Don’t worry guys, we’re still gonna enjoy our time here and obviously celebrate 4th of July. Our route now is Boston to Dallas. We can’t wait to get back into the South. Just not gonna update on Twitter anymore because it’s just too toxic over there.
And apparently his trip will include at least one more big stop: To the White House.
After his adventure began going viral, White House advisor Nick Adams announced that the Trump administration had extended an invite to Freddy on his trip. And Adams confirmed today that the visit was still on, despite the fact that Freddy was no longer on X:
“I arranged a visit to the White House for Freddy, the viral FIFA World Cup tourist from Germany, to cap off what has been an epic FIFA World Cup visit to the United States.
Despite the hateful and angry radical Left’s vicious attempts to doxx Freddy, launch personal attacks, and intimidate him into submission, ultimately forcing him to delete his social media accounts to protect his peace and safety, the West Wing visit will still take place.
Freddy’s only “crime” was loving America and documenting his travels in a completely non-partisan way. This is what they do. They try to scare and silence anyone who doesn’t conform.
As the Special Presidential Envoy for Tourism, I am proud that Freddy enjoyed his trip here. I refused to let the radical left turn something positive for our country into another victory for their politics of hate.
In the true spirit of 250, I lifted Freddy up and made sure their mob tactics would not win. The visit will go ahead as planned.
America remains open for business and open to visitors who simply want to experience the greatest country on Earth. We will never let the mob dictate who gets to enjoy it.”
Good for Freddy. Enjoy it, without all the toxic conversation that would undoubtedly ensue if it were plastered all over social media.
