Monstrous Bull Moose Knocks Its Paddles Through The Trees In Maine

Moose

A pleasant and eye-opening reminder that there are moose like this just walking around out in the wild.

For those people that live in “moose country” that regularly see the massive beasts, I’m sure it’s not that big of a deal to set your eyes upon a moose. But for the the rest of us, this video of a moose walking in the forest in Maine and standing as tall as some of the trees is astounding.

Moose are the largest of all deer in the deer family, and their height and weight might surprise you. Males are typically bigger than females, though both genders are generally ginormous (that’s me speaking in scientific terms). On average, a bull moose usually stand at 6 feet tall at their shoulders, and can even weigh up to 1,400 pounds. Cows tend to stand just a tad shorter, and their weight usually maxes out around 1,000 pounds.

Something that I can’t get over while we’re on the topic… people actually hunt these things (they’re some of the most sought after big game animals on the planet), and I can’t imagine trying to track down something of this size that could actually turn around and kill you with one swing of the antlers.

And hearing this moose grunt while walking around? If you heard that sound out in the wild, you’d suddenly rethink your whole “Bigfoot isn’t real” take. The deepness of a moose’s grunt would immediately get the imagination going and make you think you are out in the woods with a monster… and in a way, you kind of are if there’s a moose nearby.

Some simply can’t believe that this video is real and unedited, but that’s just what Mother Nature does to you sometimes. There’s some gigantic creatures out there, and if you travel to a place with a moose population, you could see that for yourself. If you can’t… you can take in this video and be mesmerized from afar.

Shoutout to the person standing just out of the moose’s path for being brave enough to stick around to capture this footage:

Yeah… it’s a beautiful creature, but I hope I never cross paths with one.

They are truly breathtaking, and I hate to sound like a broken record, but most people don’t realize just how large moose can be. Country music singer Colby Acuff once helped shine a light on that when we asked him on the Whiskey Riff Raff podcast how many people it would take to take down a moose.

The answers is more than you think, and rumor has it… no one has ever gotten to the bottom of the moose takedown conversation like Whiskey Riff Raff did.
