Video Of 4-Year Old Barron Trump From 2010 Goes Viral After The Internet Realizes They’ve Never Heard Him Speak As An Adult

Now that you mention it, I can’t remember ever hearing him speak?

During Donald Trump’s first term as president, his adult children Don Jr., Eric and Ivanka served key roles in his administration. But his youngest son, Barron Trump, was only 10 years old when his father was first elected president back in 2016, so he largely stayed out of the spotlight as his mother, First Lady Melania Trump, tried to shield him from as much of the press as possible.

The only child of Melania and Donald, Barron Trump was seen with his father at times, and often drew remarks about his size for somebody his age – but that was about the only thing we knew about Barron.

Well fast forward 8 years later, and Barron is now an 18-year old college student in his first year at NYU. And he seems to have more of an interest in politics. The President-Elect credited Barron with advising him to make appearances on popular podcasts throughout his presidential campaign, and the youngest Trump even made appearances at some of his father’s rallies over the summer:

But as the 6 foot 9 inch teenager is seen more and more with his father, folks on the internet began to realize: They’ve never actually heard Barron talk.

I mean, I guess it’s not that strange, because it’s not like a 10-year old would be giving interviews about his dad’s views on foreign policy. And it also follows the long-standing tradition of leaving a candidate’s minor children out of their parent’s politics. But still, now that he’s 18, it seems the internet was ready to hear from Barron himself.

And that’s why this video of a young Barron Trump is going insanely viral.

A resurfaced clip from CNN, filmed for Larry King Live in 2010, shows a young Barron along with his parents in Trump Tower. And the internet was shocked to hear that he spoke not like his father in a distinctive New York accent, but like his Slovenian mother Melania:

“I like my sootcase.” Classic.

As it turns out, that wasn’t the only time we got to hear young Barron and his Slavic accent. Another feature filmed by Entertainment Tonight around the same time also shows the toddler doing…well, what toddlers do.

And now the internet is obsessed with little Barron Trump – especially his affinity for his “sootcase.”

Of course we still don’t know what Barron Trump sounds like now, or whether he’s lost his accent. You’ve gotta think that it faded away as he was around more and more people with American accents, because at the time he was largely only with his mother.

But then again, we don’t know that. Maybe he’s still running around NYU with his “sootcase.”

Either way, it seems like everybody is getting a kick out of finally hearing Barron Trump speak for the first time – especially because he didn’t sound at all like what they expected.
