Lainey Wilson taking a moment to help those in need.
Hurricane Helene moved up through Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and Virginia at the end of September, completely devastating mountain towns in western North Carolina, including Chimney Rock. Many country artists, like Luke Combs and Eric Church, have done their best to quickly band together to help raise money to aid in relief efforts.
And while Lainey Wilson isn’t on the bill for “Concert for Carolina,” she’s doing her best to help those affected by the horrific natural disaster. The country music star made a surprise visit to the Chimney Rock area yesterday, thanking first responders at the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Department and Chimney Rock Village Fire Department for all that they’re doing.
In a Facebook post, Chimney Rock Village’s official page thanked the “Watermelon Moonshine” singer for helping bring attention to the ongoing relief efforts in their area:
“Country music superstar Lainey Wilson made a surprise visit to the Village to offer encouragement and thank the Sheriff’s Department and Chimney Rock Village Fire Department for their work. The Village is appreciative of efforts to bring awareness and support to our community.”
Wilson also delivered much needed supplies to Rutherford County. According to another post, she and her team dropped off all of the helpful items at the Chimney Rock Fire Station.
Someone that met Lainey when she stopped by the devastated mountain community put out this post below thanking her for being kind enough to help out:
Just met @laineywilson at the Chimney Rock fire station, she dropped off some much needed supplies. Thanks Lainey and team! Reminder our new song Windswept Pine is available all proceeds will go to my friends/neighbors that lost everything. https://t.co/bHvltMkSAX pic.twitter.com/p7OTALYc1f

This comes just days after Lainey Wilson was brought to tears on stage when a sign that someone was holding got her attention. The country star was visibly moved as the large poster reading “We Survived Helene” was passed up to her.
Who knows… maybe that moment inspired the country singer to do some boots-on-the-ground work and hand deliver supplies – and a break from all of the devastation – to the North Carolina village.
