LET’S GO.
New music from the Red Clay Strays is dropping this week AND we now have confirmation that a new album will be released later this summer. Talk about some news that will put you in a good mood this Monday.
Last week, the Alabama band announced that their first single “Wanna Be Loved,” since their 2022 album will be released on May 22nd. Shortly after this announcement, lead singer Brandon Coleman and bassist Andrew Bishop sat down with Theo Von to discuss their rise to stardom. During the This Past Weekend podcast episode, the band announced that their new album is on the way and soon.
In September of 2023, the band announced they were in the studio and teamed up with the legendary Dave Cobb, who produced the forthcoming album. So, the announcement of this album has been a long time coming.
Von asked the two when the album would come out, to which Coleman noted, “late summer.”
“I can’t wait for people to hear it because it’s just a lot better of an album than the first album as far as production goes. Because – we recorded with Dave Cobb. It’s always been a goal of ours to work with Dave.”
Theo then asked Coleman and Bishop if they selected a name for the album, and they announced for the first time publically what the forthcoming album’s title is set to be.
“The album’s going to be called ‘Made By These Moments.’ You heard it here first.”

Cobb has worked with some of the best in the business, including Chris Stapleton, Sturgill Simpson, Whiskey Myers, Luke Grimes, Colter Wall, John Prine, and Jamey Johnson, so it’s safe to say that the Red Clay Strays are in good hands with the production of this album.
The next part of the podcast that should be highlighted, aside from the excitement that new music is coming soon, is how humble these guys have remained. In the past year, the group has BLOWN UP, securing a major record deal, and soon will headline three nights at the historic Mother Church of country music, The Ryman. While they are soaking up every moment, they are still grinding to ensure they keep evolving as a band.
“People get popular too, and they’re popular for however long, and then time goes by, and nobody knows who they are anymore. That could very well be us. Who knows? Just try and be thankful for it and never want to be complacent I guess.
Always want to try and get better. Just be a better person, put on a better show, and be a better band…make better music.”
The work ethic of these guys is unmatched. I can’t wait to hear “Wanna Be Loved” later this week and for an official album release date to be set. I have a gut feeling that this album will be a standout in 2024.
