“Get These MF’ers Out Of Here” – Paul Cauthen Tosses Obnoxious Fans From Colorado Show

Get ’em Big Velvet.

Paul Cauthen was right in the middle of his concert in Grand Junction, Colorado when he had to go into crowd control mode thanks to a couple of unruly concert goers near the stage. I don’t know about you, but nothing irks me more than people who go to a concert and talk the whole time.

These people took things a step further, and were apparently yelling at one another. It got so obnoxious that Cauthen rightfully stopped his show and called them out:

“Hey, do y’all want to be quiet? Some of you guys? We’re trying to sing something.”

The crowd cheered after the country singer gave the people upfront a warning, and then Paul got back to doing what he does best.

But that didn’t last long, because evidently, the people that were called out for causing a disturbance continued to be a disturbance, and Cauthen had enough of it. Much to the approval of the crowd, Big Velvet stopped playing “Prayed For Rain” and went scorched Earth on the concert goers that weren’t paying any attention to the concert:

“Hey security. You can get these two f***ers out of here right here. I’m not gonna play another f***ing note until you all get the f*** out of my show. If y’all want to b*tch at each other, go out front. People pay money to be here, and y’all’s asses are screaming at each other while I’m playing one of my favorite f***ing songs… I’m sick of your sh*t. I’ve got in ear monitors and I can hear y’all.”

The “in ear monitors” line was probably my favorite.

It looks like Cauthen brought his band back out on stage (he was at a point in the show where he played acoustic to give his guys a break) immediately after that fiasco and skipped the rest of “Prayed for Rain.” I don’t blame him for getting on with the show at all. The ungrateful bunch in the front pretty much ruined the moment for everyone, so why try to recreate it? As Paul said as he got the concert back on track, might as well play some “loud sh*t” to get back into the groove.

Oh, and here’s what Paul Cauthen was trying to sing when those two (or more) concert goers rudely interrupted him. It’s one of the best songs in Big Velvet’s catalogue… hopefully everyone at the Grand Junction show understood why he chose to eventually skip past it:

“Cause all my friends, we were born survivors
And every time I close my eyes, I’m dreamin’ ’bout tomorrow
You know some things will never change
I think about it when I pray for rain.”
