Heads up…

Of course by now everybody’s heard about Morgan Wallen‘s latest legal troubles, after the country superstar was arrested over the weekend for allegedly throwing a chair off the rooftop of Eric Church’s new downtown Nashville bar, Chief’s.

According to News Channel 5, officers arrested Morgan, who was pointed out by the staff as the culprit, after the chair stuck the ground just a few feet from where they were standing. Nashville Metro Police reviewed security footage and it confirmed that he threw an object off the roof.

Wallen was arrested on three counts of assault with a deadly weapon/reckless endangerment, two counts for the two officers who were in the vicinity and one for the danger to the public. Wallen was also charged with disorderly conduct with a bond was set at $15,250.

He was released early yesterday morning, with his next court appearance set for May 3.

And now we have the first video that allegedly shows the now-viral incident.

Surveillance footage obtained by TMZ appears to show the moment that the infamous chair went flying over the rooftop ledge at Chief’s, landing six stories below and reportedly only missing officers by about 3 feet.

It’s impossible to tell from the grainy footage who actually threw the chair (or even tell that it’s actually a chair), because apparently despite the fact that we’re living in 2024 where everybody has high-quality cameras in their pockets, all the footage we have of this one is some surveillance footage that’s worse quality than the Zapruder film.

But according to the arrest affidavit, witnesses at the scene pointed out Wallen as the culprit, and surveillance footage from inside the bar reportedly confirmed that he’s the one who launched the chair.

And I’ve also seen some of his fans online trying to defend him and say that maybe it was an accident, that maybe the chair somehow accidentally fell off the rooftop? Well I’ve been on that rooftop and I’ll tell you that there’s really no way that can happen: There’s a ledge all the way around that’s pretty wide (so wide that you can’t really even see the sidewalk below).

You would have to launch that thing pretty good to get it over there – and as you can see from the video, it looks like that’s what happened.
