Carson Jeffrey has been on a roll to start off 2024.
The Texas troubadour got off to a hot start in January with the release of “Mrs. Lonely,” before “Marlboros at Midnight” the next month. Now, Jeffrey brings us his third impressive single in as many months, titled “Why in the World”
Recorded at Western Wind Recording in Dripping Springs, TX, “Why in the World” is a catchy tune that puts on display his clever lyricism as he laments his difficulty getting over a rocky relationship in its aftermath. Sonically, Jeffrey’s new tune fits perfectly within his growing catalog, with a sound that to me, while completely its own, is reminiscent of a way too often forgotten golden era in Texas Country music that featured bands like Six Market Blvd and Dolly Shine in the early 2010s.
With the fairly quick release of three new singles to start the year, it seems as if there could be a larger project on the way from Jeffrey here shortly, but to my knowledge, no announcement or official plans have been made yet. Nevertheless, whether an album is on its way or not, Carson Jeffrey is a name that needs to be on your radar this year, and “Why In The World” is proof.” Check it out here:
