If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to surf, you might want to do a little watching and learning with this video.

Sea lions are some of the most graceful swimmers on the planet. They can reach speeds of up to 25 miles per hour, and though that’s outstanding, it’s actually their ability to easily maneuver and change directions under water that is more impressive.

The ease they navigate the ocean with can be a sight to see, and occasionally they use their momentum to burst out of the water so they can really be seen. Jumping and riding waves is viewed as a playful activity for sea lions, and the group in this video couldn’t possibly be having any more fun.

One after the other, the sea lions swimming off the coast of California come twisting and spinning out of the massive waves rolling towards the shore. Sure, they aren’t using surfboards to ride the waves like us humans would, but they are showcasing the fact that they’ve figured out their own special way to say “Surf’s Up.”

And they aren’t just barely breaching the surface of the water. These sea lions are FULL SENDING IT, causing them to go flying through the air like… an air lion? Not a huge fan of that joke to be honest, so while I give myself a hard time about it, you can go ahead and watch the majestic footage:

How fun does that look? I never thought I’d be jealous of a sea lion, but here I am. It looks like the rest of social media was with me:
