Are people really this stupid?
This Australian woman might have been doing something that’s against the law, but she did manage to showcase the importance of stretching along the way. In the modern age of technology that we live in, pretty much anything and everything you do is likely on video. Some people, specifically this woman, apparently don’t understand that.
Security camera footage captured a woman in all black limbering up in a nearby parking lot shortly before a robbery took place in the middle of the night. Philippa’s Bakery in Melbourne was the business that was unfortunately burgled around 3 a.m. in the morning, yet they had a pretty good sense of humor about it all.
They posted the footage from outside of their establishment with this hilarious caption:
“We were quite surprised when we saw the security footage from a recent break in at our Bakery HQ. Seems like yoga is a must before breaking in. A few things were stolen, including some croissants which were clearly too tempting for this flexible burglar.”
Besides the delicious bakery items that were stolen, the burglar also swiped the bakery owner’s shoes, cleaning products, and an iPad that was used inside the store.
Soon after the theft occurred, a 44-year-old woman was arrested and charged with burglary and theft, and could have also been charged with pre-meditated stretching (if that were chargeable as a criminal offense).
I wonder how they were able to catch her? Was she not careful as she entered the building? Did she leave a clue behind after she fled the scene? Or was it maybe the fact that they stretched and did solid yoga routine in front of a security camera?
Seems like that last one was probably (and obviously) her downfall. But hey, at least she was loose and limber when she burgled. You certainly wouldn’t want to pull a muscle robbing a bakery. And I know you’ve already seen the video above, but it’s worth another watch. Especially since the Mission Impossible theme is overlayed on the footage:
