The internet is going wild after Joe Burrow and Donald Trump were spotted together last night at UFC 299.
Along with a ton of other big names, the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback and the former president were in Miami for the fight last night, and videos show Burrow and Trump chatting along with San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa.
First things first: Burrow’s right wrist appears to be doing well after the quarterback suffered a season-ending injury back in November and was forced to undergo surgery to his throwing hand.
But with no braces or anything on and shaking with his right hand, things appear to be going well for Burrow’s recovery, which is good news for Burrow fans.
And of course the internet had plenty to say about Burrow talking to Donald Trump.
In the past, Burrow has broke with the former president on some issues, including calling for tougher gun laws:
“I think with everything that’s going on, if you’re not going to outlaw everything you have to at least make it harder to get those crazy guns everybody is using. I don’t think you should be able to just walk in there and buy one. You have to be able to go through a rigorous process to be able to buy something like that, I think.”
And in 2016, he called both Trump and Hillary Clinton “terrible candidates.”

He’s also retweeted both Barack Obama and current president Joe Biden in recent years (though neither of the tweets were overly political stances).
So it’s probably fair to say that Burrow isn’t a diehard Trump supporter, though he’s never really come out and endorsed either side.
But regardless, the sight of Trump and Burrow together sent people on both sides of the political aisle into a frenzy.
Of course this isn’t the first time that Burrow and Trump have met. Burrow and his LSU Tigers football team visited the White House and met with Trump back in 2019 after winning the national championship.
And last year, the two shook hands when they crossed paths at UFC 287 – and many online joked that Trump was just reuniting with his former Home Alone co-star Macaulay Culkin.
Ultimately it’s really not that serious. There are a lot of famous people at these things, Trump is a former president and politician and takes pictures with everybody, and it’s entirely possible for two people to still be friendly even if they don’t agree on everything politically.
