Another single from Charley Crockett.
Today, the “$10 Cowboy” released another new song track from his forthcoming album, $10 Cowboy, slated for an April 26th release.
The song “Hard Luck & Circumstances” follows the traditional Western sound that Crockett is known for. The raw songwriting that was highlighted on the title track for the album is carried through in this single, as Crockett reflects on some hard times and certain circumstances that brought him to some of the lowest points in his life but also some of his best career highs.

Crockett spent two months writing this album, drawing on his real experiences as a touring musician.
“This material is written at truck stops, it’s written at casinos, it’s written in the alleys behind the venues, it’s written in my truck parked up on South Congress in Austin. A ramblin’ man like me, a genuine transient, is in a pretty damn good position to have something to say about America.”
As a man who has seen every corner of the nation playing music to fans, his personal journal is filled to the brim with observations, thoughts, and feelings, I am sure. Staying true to the ramblin’ man feeling he described, this record was cut on live tape. Crockett collaborated with long-time friend Billy Horton at Arlyn Studios in Austin, TX.
“The reason I cut it on tape is, when you get the right folks in the room, great players rise to the occasion. When that red light is on and the tape is rolling, you get the magic of a performance.”
