Cody Jinks Delivers Full Throttle Live Performance Of “Ain’t A Train”

I’ll never forget playing a round of golf with my buddy years back, and blasting country music on his speaker, when all of a sudden I heard this song called “Loud and Heavy” by Cody Jinks play. At the time, I was your average radio country music fan, listening to the constant boring tracks from Luke Bryan, Old Dominion, Florida Georgia Line, and more (I know, it was a very dark time in my life).

That was all I knew, and I was convinced the term “Outlaw Country” was left in the ’80s and ’90s with Willie and Waylon and the boys.

However, once I heard “Loud and Heavy,” I realized I had to take a dive into Cody Jinks’ catalog, and it opened a whole new world for me. I immediately became a Jinks fan, and it opened my eyes to other artists like Sturgill Simpson, Turnpike Troubadours, Tyler Childers, and the rest was history.

Over the years, I paid close attention to every project Jinks released, and one album from the man that I think doesn’t get enough love is his 2019 After the Fire project. Jinks dropped two albums in a matter of weeks at the time, but the album is pure country music to its core,

More specifically, I think the song “Ain’t a Train” is one of his most underrated songs. The song has a great message behind it, as Jinks sings about overcoming obstacles from even the deepest of pits.

With that being said, the man himself blessed us all with an incredible live performance video of the song, giving us all a taste of what it’s like to see him live.
