Sierra Ferrell Makes Her Television Debut With Folk Anthem “Fox Hunt”

2024 is the era of Sierra.

Since the release of Ferrell’s 2021 album Long Time Coming, I have been waiting for Ferrell to gain the national traction that she deserves, and her moment in the limelight is finally here.

Shortly after Sierra Ferrell made the announcement of her sophomore album, Trail of Flowers, and the release of her brand new single “Dollar Bill Bar,” she had another career milestone making her national television debut.

Last night, Sierra Ferrell graced the stage of Jimmy Kimmel Live! to perform her barn burner folk anthem “Fox Hunt.” The infectious energy filled the studio as Ferrell stepped on stage, sporting a whimsical look that perfectly matched the old folklore sound of the hunting song.

“Fox Hunt is my ode to hunters. We live in a world where most all of us get everything from a supermarket, and we take that food security, or at least the convenience, for granted.

It wasn’t that long ago where that wasn’t the case… where hunting and gathering was how regular folks provided for their family, and leaving the hunt empty-handed wasn’t much of an option.”

The old-timey feel of the single compliments the album promo perfectly. It’s making me think of medieval and mythical stories that are painted in fiction books, and I love it. Ferrell has come a long way from busking on the streets of New Orleans, and she deserves it. Her talent is unlike any other; her powerful lyrics and kind spirit make her a force to be reckoned with.

This is how to make your national television debut.
