This announcement has been a Long Time Coming.

Sierra Ferrell is blessing her fans with new music, and lots of it is coming soon. Announced this morning, Sierra Ferrell will release her sophomore album, Trail Of Flowers, on March 22nd via Rounder Records.

“My new album, ‘Trail of Flowers,’ is out on March 22, and my new single “Dollar Bill Bar” is out now!”

Ferrell shared on social media, revealing the medieval-inspired album artwork.

“With ‘Trail of Flowers,’ I wanted to make a fuller sound with bigger drums, but still stay true to the stripped-down feel of old-time music whenever it felt right. I wanted to create something that makes people feel nostalgic for the past, but excited about the future of music.

I’m just trying to put words and melodies together and build it into something people can pour their feelings into, all their happiness and sorrows, so that it changes their reality a little bit and gives them some comfort.

To me music is like medicine. Whenever I write a song and it feels healing to me, I know it can heal other people too.”

Ferrell recorded the album at Nashville’s Sound Emporium Studios, working with famed producers Eddie Spear and Gary Paczosa. Spear and Paczosa have collectively produced other legendary country artists like Dwight Yoakam, Zach Bryan, Chris Stapleton and Alison Krauss. Outside of the all-star production team, listeners can look forward to hearing features from Lukas Nelson and Chris Scruggs.

Accompanying the record announcement, Ferrell is dropping another single that will appear on the tracklist, “Dollar Bill Bar.” Off the heels of her “Fox Hunt” release, “Dollar Bill Bar” shows the versatility in Ferrell’s sound, taking a softer approach but still keeping her Appalachian folk roots. Ferrell enlisted help from Nikki Lane and Kristen Rogers for backing vocals, giving the song an anthemic feel.

The lighthearted single tells the tale of a woman who is wanted at the “Dollar Bill Bar,” but she constantly breaks the hearts of every man trying to win her over. It’s the perfect tale about a dive bar romance.

“Guys like you are a dime a dozen, you should count your lucky stars
Honey, if I had a dollar for every single cowboy’s heart
I could break a hundred down at the Dollar Bill Bar…”

As Ferrell kicks off her Shoot For The Moon Tour in early March, audience members are bound to hear more tracks from the upcoming album. Once the album is released, listeners will have 12 new Sierra Ferrell songs to memorize before seeing her captivating stage sets.

Sierra Ferrell continues to show fans that her sound is evergrowing and evolving as she puts a unique spin on every project she does. With a sound unlike anyone else in the country music landscape, she shines.

2024 will be Sierra Ferrell’s year. Crank “Dollar Bill Bar” to max volume today; it will quickly become a repeat listen.
