Incase you don’t spend too much time on social media, there’s become a trend amongst some dudes nowadays…

And I’m talking about painting their nails.

Most notably, former USC quarterback Caleb Williams went viral for doing this before every game, specifically when he decided to paint “f*ck Utah” on his nails for the PAC-12 Championship against the Utes in 2022.

Williams did it to honor his mom who does nails for a living, however he later admitted that it probably wasn’t the best idea. He got rid of the painted nails ahead of the 2023 season.

It’s something that we’re seeing more and more amongst guys, even though it’s obviously been something that women traditionally do.

With that being said, one former NFL player is speaking his mind about the trend, and it’s former Dallas Cowboys and Buffalo Bills wide receiver Cole Beasley.

Beasley said on X:

“What’s up with all these dudes painting their nails nowadays? That ain’t it….”

As you can imagine, the response from Beasley’s followers was quite the mixed bag, and when one follower tried to defend guys painting their nails, comparing it to tattoos, Beasley doubled down on his stance:

“I disagree. Tattoos tell a story based on the image you get. Painted nails have no image. What exactly are you expressing? Cause I can only think of one thing. Lol”

Of course, Beasley is retired from football now, and has no organization to appease. The man has every right to speak his mind.

However, when the Twitter mob started to come for Beasley full force, he was ready to call it quits:

“I’m ready to stop talking about fashion now y’all it wasnt supposed to be this serious. I’m not fashionable at all. I didn’t think my opinion was gonna have y’all this butthurt. My bad… next.”
