Blackberry Smoke does it again.

The band released another new single from their forthcoming album Be Right Here, which is due out everywhere soon on February 16th.

The follow up to their 2021 You Hear Georgia record, their distinctively southern rock sound and top tier songwriting always comes through, and the latest track “Azalea” is certainly no different.

Written by lead singer Charlie Starr and longtime collaborator Travis Meadows, Starr says that while it’s not necessarily an overly-happy song, it tells the honest truth about their struggles as fathers and what they hope for their children:

“It’s a heavy song. It’s not a happy song, per se. There’s some hope in there, too. It comes with both Travis and I being fathers.

Hold on to your kids as tight as you can without smothering them.”

In addition to “Azalea,” they’ve released three other singles in “Hammer And The Nail,” “Little Bit Crazy” and “Dig A Hole” so far.

Produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Dave Cobb, the project as a whole is a collection of ten tracks that celebrates the simple joys of life, the fleeting moments and the little bits of luck found along the way.

Each song was recorded at Nashville’s historic RCA Studio A and Cobb’s Georgia Mae studio in Savannah.

Of course, Blackberry Smoke has a lengthy track record of putting out great music with meaningful lyrics that stand the test of time, and Be Right Here is shaping up to be another stellar addition to their catalog.
