Rashard Mendenhall’s All-White vs All-Black Pro Bowl Got The Madden Simulation Treatment

One of the biggest stories in the sports world right now is, strangely enough, a hypothetical situation.

There’s a chance that you might not be up to date on the NFL’s “All Black versus All White” pro bowl, and that’s okay. Allow me to get you up to date on everything you need to know about it, before we see how the Madden video game simulation turned out.

Former Pittsburgh Steelers first round draft pick Rashard Mendenhall took social media by storm when he sent out a fiery post calling out “average white guys” being commentators for football games. And while he was at it, he proposed that a pro bowl game between all-white players and all-black players should be organized:

“I’m sick of average white guys commenting on football. Y’all not even good at football. Can we please replace the Pro Bowl with an All-Black vs. All-White bowl so these cats can stop trying to teach me who’s good at football? I’m better than your goat.”

As you might imagine, that post got a lot of conversation stirring, and even prompted one of our uberly talented writers (and average white guy) to lay out an entire all-white versus all-black pro bowl matchup. He took the time to sort out 47-players-per-team, and all I will say about it is that there’s a clear favorite…

The world may never know how an actual game of this nature would play out, but we do have something very close to thanks to Barstool Sports. They decided to put the two rosters together on the football video game Madden to simulate Mendenhall’s proposal for the new-and-improved (?) pro bowl.

And when I say it was a shoot out, it was a full-blown, offensive showdown. There wasn’t a lot of defense, and both virtual teams were certainly there to prove something. But at the end of the day, the All Black team (Las Vegas Raiders) took down the All White team (Dallas Cowboys) 69 to 57.

You can view some of the highlights of the virtual matchup in the video below:
