For the select few out in the world that have eaten Doritos Nacho Cheese chips and thought to themselves “these are great as a tortilla chip snack, but I wish this was liquor,” boy, do I have some good news for you.

Doritos and Frito-Lay decided to shock the world by partnering with Empirical to create Empirical x Doritos Nacho Cheese Spirit liquor, which promises to “taste like the real thing.” And let’s be honest, no one was asking for this, and no one was worried if it was going to taste exactly like the nacho cheese flavored chip.

Tina Mahal, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Frito-Lay North America, said:

“Doritos is all about disrupting culture and bringing our fans unexpected, bold experiences. We’re always pushing our fans to try new things, so we figure it’s time we disrupt the spirits category by offering our iconic nacho cheese flavor in a bottle.”

Thankfully, this Dorito-flavored liquor will only be “limited edition,” and something tells me that its popularity won’t allow it to stretch past its limited edition tenure. The Nacho Cheese Spirit will sell for $65 online and in select markets in California and New York, and boasts a 42% ABV.

Everything about this screams “nightmare hangover fuel,” especially with how the press release describes the flavor of the liquor:

“Tastes like the real thing! Experience the indulgent flavors of your favorite snack in liquid form. The spirit opens with umami and tangy aromas of nacho cheese, moving to the deeper, corn-forward flavors of the chip to finish on a soft salty note.”

I just threw up in my mouth a little bit reading that. I can’t imagine actually trying it, but they probably wouldn’t have gone through the trouble of producing it if they didn’t think people would be gullible enough to buy it.
