Texas meets Oklahoma and covers one of the best of the best. I am a sucker for anybody that covers some Turnpike Troubadours, and this duo is one that I never knew I needed so badly.

Wyatt Flores was blowing up before the release of his Life Lessons EP, which has received loads of praise from the country music collective, and Dylan Gossett is a newcomer who has shaken the scene with his debut EP, No Better Time

If you haven’t familiarized yourself with these two, there’s No Better Time. (That was a little cheesy, but the pun teed itself up there.)

One of my favorite ways to see the talent that artists process is through a good old cover. And who else for these red dirt-loving boys to cover than the ultimate red dirt band, Turnpike Troubadours?

The two sat down for a little backstage jam session and blew the lid off a cover of Turnpike’s famed track “7 & 7.”

The short snippet of the chorus had me longing for a full version of the cover; it’s damn good. Their voices pair so well together as Wyatt takes the lower support tone and Dylan hits the higher parts of the harmony.

“Well, I had no clue, I’d be the boy whoYour mama warned you about….”

As they both strum their guitars, they look so giddy at how they are getting to jam together. This video is a serotonin booster and a timeline refresher we never knew we needed.

Wyatt, Dylan, when is the collab single coming out?
