Last month, Cody Jinks released a banger of a new single, titled “Outlaws and Mustangs.”

The song is an ode to all of the outlaws out there, who roam from place to place, staying on the run just like a mustang. The lyrics paint the picture crystal clear:

“Go on, hit the highway, disappear in the night
You got to see the world all by yourself, and that’s alright
You ain’t leaving me worried, you were born to roam
The thing about outlaws and mustangs, they always come home
They always come home”

Needless to say, the song perfectly fits Jinks’ outlaw persona, and is easy on the ears too with a beautiful fiddle intro. But speaking of “Outlaws and Mustangs,” Jinks just released a live video of the band playing the song during their stop in Des Moines, Iowa.

Now if there’s one thing for certain about Cody Jinks, it’s that he puts on one of the best live shows around. If you haven’t had a chance to see him in person, you need to add it on your 2024 to-do list, because it’s something special.

In the video, Jinks expresses his appreciation for the folks in Iowa, saying:

“A lot of you guys have been seeing us play for years and years, and a lot of you guys know how important Iowa’s been to us in our journey.

Sometimes people are like ‘what’re some of the really important places that you’ve played,’ and I say before we went to the east coast or the west coast, we were just hitting it hard from Texas all the way to Minnesota, and we would always stop in Des Moines when there was like three or four people there years and years ago man. You guys have been with us for a long time so thank you!”

The band then broke out into an impressive live performance of the song.
