As a Saints fan I’ve been pretty happy to watch Sean Payton fall flat on his face during his first season as head coach of the Denver Broncos. But as someone who’s sick of hearing about Taylor Swift when I tune in to watch football, I have to give credit where it’s due.
Taylor wasn’t in attendance at Mile High Stadium today to watch her new boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, take on the Broncos. And it seems that the Chiefs might have been missing their good luck charm (they’ve won every game she’s attended) as the 6-1 Chiefs lost to the 2-5 Broncos on the heels of 5 turnovers by Kansas City and three touchdowns from Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson.
But despite the fact that there’s hasn’t been much that’s gone right for the Broncos this season, they still took some time after the game to rub it in their opponent’s face after the surprise victory.
As the teams met at midfield for the postgame handshake and fans were filing out of the stadium, Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” blared from the speakers, a hilarious jab at the newest Kansas City Chiefs fan and the NFL’s latest obsession.
