We Got Loud and Rowdy At Rebels & Renegades Music Festival

Rebels & Renegades Festival

Rebels & Renegades Music Festival BROUGHT the rebel and outlaw spirit to Monterey, California, throughout the whole festival weekend.

As some of you might have noticed, we were posting a lot over the last few days from the beautiful beach town of Monterey during the second-ever Rebels & Renegades Music Festival.

The three-day festival had a STACKED lineup highlighting all facets of the country music genre, from headliners of Turnpike Troubadours, Whiskey Myers, and Wilco to daytime acts like The Infamous Stringdusters, JD Clayton, Brent Cobb, and Wyatt Flores, country music was well represented all weekend long, having artists for everyone to enjoy.

Not to mention, the only repeat artist they had from last year was Shane Smith & the Saints (and I mean, we can’t ever get enough of them), highlighting the diversity of artists they attract.

The festival, held at the Monterey County Fairgrounds, featured two large stages with no overlapping sets, ensuring that fans could see everyone on their list. Founders Dan Sheehan and his wife Amy made sure that was an integral part of their festival, and they know how frustrating it can be to pick and choose and fully embrace the motto of:

“Discovery is crucial to the longevity of any genre of music.”

So, with no overlapping sets, discovery is a crucial aspect of their lineup philosophy.

Through their partnership with GoodVibez Presents, the festival grounds were clean, easy to navigate, and filled with smiling faces ready to answer any questions you had to give directions to find what you were looking for. With some phenomenal vendors (like our booth), fantastic food, and great drinks, the weekend was the perfect trifecta for shopping, eating, and music indulging.

On top of getting to enjoy the top-notch music from the festival, we had a chance to sit and chat with some of the incredible artists performing, including Brent Cobb, Cody Cannon (frontman for Whiskey Myers), Flatland Cavalry, Sierra Ferrell, Wyatt Flores, JD Clayton, and Mike Harmeier (frontman of Mike and the Moonpies).

We talked about new music with everyone, learned about songwriting processes, and asked some highly entertaining rapid-fire questions, which led to some great stories.

We are so thankful to the Rebels & Renegades crew for having us this year. Their hospitality towards our team was top-notch, making it a stand-out event for us. We had the time of our lives while meeting all of you great Whiskey Riffers out there!

If you couldn’t make it this year, mark your calendar for next because this is not a festival you’ll want to miss. Check out some of the fun we had:

And if that hasn’t sold you on attending next year, check out some of the incredible performances from the weekend.
