Best tackle of the night…
This might be a hot take, but I love a crazy fan moment during college football games. From the Ole Miss fan getting cozy with the goalpost earlier this season to this, they never fail to make me laugh.
Especially when it comes along with a great play from the security team.
During this weekend’s LSU game, a fan stormed the field mid-game and got LAID out at the fifty-yard line.
While I saw the video on Twitter yesterday, it took me a second to find some context to what made the fan storm the field. From the Twitter video, he just looked like he was out there for a good laugh…
“A fan just stormed onto the field, and the police officer just made the best tackle of the night.”
Turns out he was.
One of the guy’s friends took to TikTok to share the sideline view of the event.
“When you bet your friend $1,000 to storm the field, and he gets laid out.”
Reads the on-screen caption. Lo and behold, it is the same man.
In the TikTok video, you see him saunter up to the gate and jump it before jogging onto the field. What kills me about this is that he jumps the fence RIGHT next to a security guard, and they just look at him and let it happen.
The man was genuinely taking a stroll around the field till he saw the cops come after him, where he made a B-line to turn around and come back to where he came from.
Unfortunately for him, the cops caught up, flattening him on the field before hauling him off in handcuffs.
Like the supportive friend behind the camera, he makes sure to film the whole thing until you can no longer see the man in handcuffs. At the end of the video, the screen flashes to show a Venmo payment made to him for $1,000.
At least his friends kept up their end of the bargain… He might need to use that as bail money now.

Football fans took to the comment section, giving props to the cops’ play. They looked better on the field than LSU did during that game.
And thanks to Twitter, they did share that the fan was let go after, making a triumphant return to the tailgates.
