Georgia Head Coach Kirby Smart Doesn’t Know Who Miley Cyrus Is: “I Know Eric Church ‘Wrecking Ball'”

Country music is universal, and is so relatable that it can sneak into any part of life.

After Georgia’s blowout win over Kentucky yesterday, head Coach Kirby Smart was speaking to the media when an interesting question came up.

Smart had used an analogy with “wrecking ball” in it earlier in the conversation, and one reporter got hung up on it and decided to ask a follow up.

“Going back to your wrecking ball analogy, in my head I’m envisioning Miley Cyrus, is it like…”

Kirby decided to cut her off right there, only because he wasn’t catching on to what she was saying. Based on how he responded, if she would have related it to the Chief, Kirby probably would have been on the same page.

Smart said:

“I don’t know who Miley Cyrus is? What does she have to do with a wrecking ball? Huh?

I know Eric Church ‘Wrecking Ball.'”

I guess the head coach of the Georgia Bulldogs doesn’t necessarily need to know who Miley Cyrus is, but it is surprising that he said he “doesn’t know her.” I feel like the “Wrecking Ball” era was pretty hard to miss…

But, props to him for bringing it back to the world of country music, and shouting out Eric Church’s hit song “Like A Wrecking Ball” in the process:

And while you are here, you might as well take some time to listen to the BETTER of the two wrecking-ball-themed songs.

I’d take Eric Church’s song over Miley’s any day of the week.
