I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS DAY.

Since Charley Crockett released “Trinity River- Live from the Ryman” earlier this year, I have been hoping for the day we got all of the footage from the sensational show at the historic Nashville venue…while the album and film were announced in August, the date is finally here to enjoy it.

Crockett was apprehensive about filming the show at Nashville venue as he doesn’t love watching himself back on film, but thanks to some persuasion from his manager, he followed through with the filming.

“I wanted to play on that stage so badly, but I didn’t know how it would ever happen. That’s what was running through my mind the night The Blue Drifters and I played the Ryman for the first time.

Selling out the Ryman for the first time is a once-in-a-lifetime event, and luckily my manager came up with the idea of filming the show.

As a rule, I can’t stand watching videos of myself, I don’t really know how anyone can, but I’m grateful we captured that night. The crowd was truly something else, they stood up early on in the show and never sat back down again.”

Crockett had noted during the announcement revealing this project. The stage that was home to the original Grand Ole Opry holds so much history, and just like the Opry, most musicians hope and dream they can one day grace the stage of the church pew filled venue.

“Good evening, Nashville, Tennessee…I’m Charley Crockett. Thank you so much for having me out tonight.”

Crockett says with his smooth twang after lighting up the stage with “Cowboy Candy” as his opening track.

The twenty-three-song setlist is filled with songs that capture the authentic sound of Charley Crockett’s wild western sound. Each track sounds like it is straight from the album with Crockett’s consistent vocal capability.

That is one aspect of Charley Crockett that makes him so much fun to watch. While he is accompanying himself on guitar through each track, he is still able to nail each and every note. His stage presence is captivating, and the audience is DIALED into the show, wildly cheering after every song in the 90-minute set.

“How about it for my band y’all, The Blue Drifters….they know how to make a ten-dollar cowboy look pretty good.”

Crockett notes before he kicks off the Jerry Reed cover of “I Feel For You.”

While the acoustics and sound of each track through the performance are rave-worthy, the visuals from the live performance look like you are watching a film instead of a concert.

The production value of this is impeccably done, highlighting Crockett through a lens that matches his brand seamlessly.

As the caption in the YouTube video notes, the film is for a limited time only…so I’d say get to watching. This is not one to skip out on.
