I’d be willing to bet that you’ve been seeing a lot of Kevin James lately on your social media feeds, whether you like it or not.

Every once in a while, a “meme” catches the world by storm and takes off to the moon like a GameStop stock. We are currently right in the middle of the “Kevin James Meme” era, and I hate to break it to you, but it looks like it’s only picking up steam.

It’s really a mystery as to why the meme caught fire. What’s even more intriguing is the fact that the viral moment basically stems from a picture of James during his The King of Queens days where he has both hands in his pockets and is showing the camera a soft smile/smirk.

Now the meme has evolved into basically any “stock” photo of James, and has even brought in his TV co-star Leah Remini in a couple of the online jokes.

Remini even took to her X account to share her appreciation for the memes, and how it’s great that The King of Queens has been brought back into the spotlight shortly after the show’s 25th anniversary:

And as for Kevin James, he decided to capitalize on the memes surrounding him and somewhat rebrand the stand-up comedy tour he is currently on.

He released a photo (one that is familiar if you’ve been on social media in the past week) announcing his “Double Hands in the Pocket” Tour, which is “sheepishly coming to a city near you.”

The sides of the graphic also have some funny touches describing the viral photo, including “2 Hands, 2 Pockets” and “Almost a Smile.”

James posted the picture to X account saying:

“Gearing up for my new Stand Up Tour. So glad I found this headshot…”

His website shows that he has stand up shows St Louis, Missouri tonight, two shows in one night in Lexington, Kentucky on September 28th, and another stop on Fort Wayne, Indiana on September 29th.

A post on his social media accounts earlier in the year shows that he has a couple more stops across the country after those shows in what was originally called “The Irregardless Tour.”

And if you thought I was going to cover this Kevin James story without including a plethora of memes, what’s wrong with you?

Here are some of the best ones I’ve seen below:
