13-Foot Alligator Killed By Florida Wildlife Officials After It Was Found With A Human Body In Its Mouth

This sounds like something straight out of a horror movie.

According to WFLA, Jamarcus Bullard noticed a massive alligator in a Pinellas County canal near Tampa Bay.

Although he was surprised to see it in a residential area like that, the most shocking part was that he found actual human remains near the gator.

Bullard told the outlet:

“I threw a rock at the gator just to see if it was really a gator and it pulled the body. It was holding the lower part of the torso and pulled it under the water.”

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office joined forces to euthanize the gator, which they discovered to be a whopping 13 feet, 8.5 inches.

The gator was so big that its weight nearly dragged the truck they were using to pull it out back into the water.

A dive team later identified the remains as those of 41-year-old Sabrina Peckham, and the Medical Examiner’s Office says the cause of death is still being investigated, meaning that they don’t know if the gator killed Peckham, or if she was already dead before the gator got her remains.

Talk about a horrific scene.

Although alligator attacks on humans are rare, it’s still a possibility, as an 85-year-old woman was killed by one while walking her dog near a pond earlier this year.
