Driver Narrowly Avoids Collision When Moose Hurdles Over The Car

Moose can be a big problem for motorists.

They are just so big, weighing up to 1,500-pounds, that they can really do some damage to a vehicle.

And because they stand so tall, most vehicles will hit the right in the legs causing them to land on (or through) the windshield.

Needless to say, if you live in moose country, you want to avoid a collision at all costs.

Sometimes it’s unavoidable, however, it’s rare that a driver makes it away this lucky. But then again, it’s also rare that a moose is running down the street in an urban area.

A dashcam captured this bizarre scene which appears to be somewhere in Russia, when a car starts to pull out into an intersection and you see a moose out of nowhere cut right for the car.

The car breaks hard and the moose takes a huge leap, narrowly clearing the car completely. It slides off the roof of the car and crashes down to the pavement, before picking itself back up and running off.

I mean, I’m sure there could be a few scratches from its hoofs dragging, and the moose probably came out with a scrape or bruise or two.

But with no serious injuries to the moose, and no major damage to the car… it’s a success.

Massive Bull Moose Stops Car To Lick The Salt On Canadian Road

When salt is placed on freezing roads, watch out for animals. They tend to come out and spend a lot of time licking it off of anything it sticks too.

All wildlife requires some level of salt to survive. Larger animals obviously require more and certain species need to find it in larger quantities due to it lacking from their natural diet.

Hunters love using the salt block trip to get an animal to stop up so we can get good trail camera photos throughout the summer months leading into hunting seasons.

Large animals like moose will look for large concentrations of salt. They need to intake this salt to ensure they have the appropriate amount of minerals in their system for survival.

Cars during the winter kick up the salt laid out on the roads and it accumulates on vehicles.

This moose realized that and decided he had found himself a good salt source.

Stopped roadside in Canada, a big ol’ bull moose approached the car and started licking it all over as the owners watched from inside.

Literally starring the people in the eyes, the moose licks up the side across the windows and all over the car.

It is so close that a cellphone video looks like some National Geographic level stuff.

You can’t have an encounter this close with a bull moose that large and it be this safe…

This is one unique encounter.

Watch out for the car lickin’ animals this winter.
