I’ll always be the first to tell you that I love an incredibly deep, sad country song, or a country song that paints a story so crystal clear that you can picture it in your head like scenes from a movie.
However, I’d also be lying if I said I didn’t like a good ol’ boot stompin’, beer drinkin’ anthem. You know, the kinda songs that you turn up to full blast on your car ride home after clocking out of work on a Friday afternoon, gearing up to slam some beers with the boys.
You can’t beat it with a stick.
On top of that, I’m an even bigger fan of those kinds of songs this type of year, as we’re slowly getting to cooler weather (beside the fact that it’s 100 degrees outside in my hometown right now), which means beers, bonfires, and football season.
With that being said, it appears one group is gearing up to drop the ideal post work on a Friday beer drinking anthem…
And it’s no other than the Texas country powerhouse, Josh Abbott Band.
Dubbed “Barstool Boys,” the band shared a short teaser of the song to social media, and although we don’t get to hear a lot, we know that there is some bada** harmonica, as it transitions to Abbott singing about getting off work and gearing up to park it on a barstool, pop a top (or 10) and have a time.
Get ready, because the song is slated to drop on September 1st.
