Talk about a strange situation.

We’ve all seen pictures and videos of people dressed in bear costumes, and I’ll admit, this “bear” in this Chinese zoo doesn’t have me fooled.

According to the New York Post, it all went down at Hangzhou Zoo, when zoogoers noticed a Malaysian sun bear named Angela standing on its two hind legs, and walking like a human.

But, Hangzhou Zoo is setting the record straight, as they shared in a statement pretending to be Angela:

“Some people think I stand like a person. It seems you don’t understand me very well.”

Not gonna lie, if this isn’t a human dressed as a bear, ol’ Angela needs to hit leg day something bad.

The local Hangzhou Daily first noticed the wild scene, writing:

“Because of the way they stand, some people online question whether they are ‘humans in disguise.'”

So, I guess the zoo felt the need to go ahead and set the record straight, and let everybody know that Angela is an actual bear.

Officials also said that a human could not survive in a bear costume with the summer temperatures rising above 100 degrees.

A spokesman said:

“If a person did wear a bear costume, they would be lying down within minutes due to the heat.”

Sun bears are the smallest bears in the world, as they stand at only 50 inches tall at their tallest on their hind legs. For comparison grizzly bears are up to eight feet tall.

I guess I’ll have to believe the zoo on this one, but you can’t tell me this doesn’t look like a full on costume…
