If you’ve got tickets to see Arlo McKinley in the near future, I’ve got some bad news.
The Ohio native took to social media today to announce the postponement of the remainder of his US tour, citing his mental health as the primary concern, along with ensuring fans get the shows they deserve when they come to see him.
“To have to do this breaks my heart, but I can’t justify continuing on as if everything is ok.
Unfortunately, I am needed to take a break from touring, so the rest of my US tour is currently postponed. The best thing for me right now is to regroup, prioritize my mental health, and come back to perform the shows that our fans, friends, promoters, agents, label, managers and anyone else invested in me/us deserve to see.
I do not take canceling shows lightly, so to cancel these upcoming shows is not an easy thing for me to do. This is my life. Not just the music but my well bring, and the well being of those around me.
I apologize to everyone who will feel let down by this, but it’s something I know must happen to better myself and to move forward.
You’ve been the best fans anyone could ever ask for and I’m so grateful for each and every one of you. I ask for your understanding as I work on myself and give you what I know you deserve.
Venues will be refunding any tickets that were purchased for the upcoming shows. Thank you for your love and understanding.”
Those familiar with his songwriting won’t be surprised to hear Arlo has dealt with some mental health issues in the past and we hope he can get the help he needs, get back on his feet, and get back to doing whatever it is that’s best for him.
Arlo released his third album, This Mess We’re In, just over a year ago and was in the midst of a tour run throughout the western US and was recently announced as a performer for the annual Healing Appalachia festival in September.
We wish him nothing but the best and hope he can get back to baseline soon.
