Whiskey Riff Song Of The Week: “Where My Wild Things Are” By Ryan Bingham

Happy Monday, y’all.

Today for the Song of the Week, we have a new tune from Ryan Bingham called “Where My Wild Things Are.”

The lead single from his just-announced forthcoming Watch Out for the Wolf record, this new project will be the first album Ryan has put out since American Love Song in February of 2019, and needless to say, I can’t wait.

Of course, he’s been pretty busy during that four-year gap, appearing as a series regular on the hit Paramount series Yellowstone as a ranch hand named Walker.

He did manage to release one single since that album, a cover of Billy Joe Shaver’s “Ride Me Down Easy” with Nikki Lane in 2022, but we really haven’t heard much from him in terms of music in way too long.

And while this new song is definitely a bit of a departure from his previous work and overall sound, with a bit of a Tom Petty, 80’s rock touch in the production, I love it.

It’s fun to hear a different side of an artist as talented as Ryan is, and thankfully, we don’t have to wait too long to hear the entire project, as Watch Out for the Wolf is set to be released everywhere on August 11th.

Turn it up…

And how ’bout a little bit of the acoustic, stripped-back version while you’re here, too…
