You can just feel every bit of emotion Ashley McBryde put into writing this song.

She’s gearing up to release her her fourth studio album The Devil I Know in September, and is slated to drop everywhere you listen to music on September 8th.

So far, she’s released three singles, the title track, “Learned To Lie,” and the lead single “Light On In The Kitchen,” which is also her current single at country radio.

And today, Ashley put out a new music video for the sentimental song, which finds her reflecting on the lessons her mom taught her and how comforting the thought of going home still is to her as an adult.

Written by Ashley along with Connie Harrington and Jessi Alexander, it’s a beautiful and heartfelt song and video that also features an appearance from Ashley’s mama, Martha, at the end:

Ashley previously shared that the overall theme of the record will focus on her deeply personal internal struggles as both an artist and a person:

“‘You guys are great but you’re a little too rock and roll.’ Man y’all are good but you need less tender songs.’ ‘If there’s such a thing as too country, that song is it.’

You spoke. I listened. ‘The Devil I Know.’ September 8. Buckle up. Pre-save / pre-add / pre-order at the link in bio/stories. Oh, and ‘Learned To Lie’ is out now, too… surprise!”
